Derek Lennon grew up in North Carolina before moving to Colorado, where he earned his degree from the University of Colorado. After graduation, he chased the endless winter as a ski instructor and backcountry ski guide, traveling to iconic mountain regions in the U.S., New Zealand, Canada, and Chile. In 2011, Derek and his wife, Mia, chose Big Sky, Montana, as the perfect place to set down roots and raise their family.

For years, Derek worked as an instructor and guide for Big Sky Backcountry Guides and Big Sky Resort, sharing his passion for the mountains with visitors and locals. In 2020, he transitioned into real estate, teaming up with Mia, one of Big Sky’s top brokers. Together, they form a dynamic team dedicated to helping clients navigate the Big Sky real estate market, bringing local knowledge, expertise, and enthusiasm to every interaction.

Derek’s passion for the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is contagious. Inspired by the mountains, rivers, wildlife, and fresh air, he enjoys exploring every corner of Big Sky’s outdoor playground. When he’s not helping clients, Derek is backcountry skiing, hiking, or mountain biking with his two sons, Finn and Mads, and their dogs, Smokey and Midas.
